Whisky and Daisies
Remember the times when
things were heavy
but we had each other?
No words necessary,
just a peaceful presence
and a warm cup of tea.
The windows opened
their mouths and
blew the breath of
God
upon us
as we laid on the big open floor,
my body tangled
in the mess of
you.
So quiet were those moments
when our hearts
found the rhythm
of the other,
and they danced a slow dance
that soothed
our raging veins.
Hold me again
like the silent nest
of the amethyst hills
until I melt into the
woman
I know I'm meant to be...
because even though
we
look like
whiskey and daisies,
there's a comfort in the storm
and a cooling from the sun
when you pour your potent spirit
on my burning petals.
Just hold
me,
one more time.
