The Art of Coordinated Power Hapkido is a powerful and innovative Korean martial art. It is literally defined : The art of coordinated power, and its history dates back more thatn thirteen hundred years. Through centuries of refinement and its pursuit of the way, Hapkido has come to incorporate some of the best physical aspects of many other self-defense art forms. Hapkido is the unique fusion of powerful and sharp had techniques; fluid and highly effective throwing techniques; and decisive and sharp hand techniques. The philosophy of Hapkido stems from three basic principles: non-resistance, circular motion, and the water principle. The Tradition Hapkido is based on Eastern Philosophy. Physical prowess is a finite ability while the innerbeing is capable of infinite spiritual , philosophical and intellectual power. The path of self-development starts with the respect for oneself and others, and we encourage this attitude in and beyond the mat. Our school is a sanctuary of spiritual and physical development.
