Swinging for Peace

“There’s peace in the transition,” she hears.
“Where? I can’t feel it.”
She sits on a swing facing the uneasy lake.
The wind blows a cold shade of violet on her fingertips.
“You just have to trust the flow of life.
Breathe deep and swing.”
“But I’m cold and uncomfortable,” she says as she folds her arms and
bundles into her jacket.

from single to married,
from sheltered to homeless,

The Danger of Knowledge

It may seem intrinsically wrong to say that knowledge can be dangerous, after all, isn't our study and path about the accumulation of knowledge? And yet, and I say this with a deep personal understanding, as this is one of my own particular flaws, in a way knowledge can be a real distraction from our growth.

I know, I know, it just seems wrong to say it, but bear with me for a moment.

In May, flowers bloom, weather warms up, and Spring expands its long, outstretched arms toward Summer. The peak of this season has arrived. If you haven't already been inspired, now is the time to clean out those cupboards and create space for new things to enter your life. If you did that weeks ago, you may already be nurturing the new – a class you wanted to try, a recipe, a trip planned to somewhere you've never been. Some of us find ourselves able to take advantage of slashed prices and great deals to seize new opportunities this Spring. Others of us find ourselves stuck, wanting to flow and expand, yet feeling our wallets, worlds, even our hopes a little, contracting.
